Usage

Thanks to the seamless integration of this iButton reader into Loxone Config, various functionalities can be linked. Consider:

• Opening doors with an electronic key
• Activating lighting
• Playing music

Anything is possible, let your imagination run wild!
This solution can even be used for machines, such as equipment that is only accessible with the correct iButton key. This limits usage to authorized individuals.

We also use this smart access solution in our Loxone Basecamp in Austria.

Note: This is a 1-Wire solution. To use this iButton reader, you need a Loxone 1-Wire Extension or a similar 1-Wire device.

Operation

Place your electronic key on the iButton reader, and a signal is sent. This signal is received by the Loxone 1-Wire Extension, after which the Miniserver takes the appropriate steps (e.g., opening a door or registering access).

Installation & Mounting

You can:

• Embed this electronic key reader into a wall
• Simply mount it on a panel

The reader is suitable for an installation depth of 5 mm and a diameter of 20 mm. Thanks to the use of high-quality stainless steel, this iButton reader can be used outdoors without any issues.

Attention: The iButton reader must be installed in a rainproof location.

Connection

The electronic key reader is connected to the Loxone 1-Wire Extension:

• White wire: "DATA"
• Gray wire: "GND"
• Yellow wire: common ground for the LEDs
  • Green = green LED
  • Red = red LED

Both LEDs can be operated with 24V DC, as the associated resistors are already integrated.

Note: Only one iButton reader can be connected per 1-Wire Extension, as there is no differentiation with which reader the iButton connects.
